Youth Ministry and Activities

This portion of our website is dedicated to the youth of our church. At St. Mark's, we believe that our children and youth of all ages are valued members of our community. St. Mark's vision for its youth ministry program is to provide a safe, nurturing place for its youth to meet new people and explore their faith, and to help them develop the tools that will enable them to grow into mature Christian adults. The following options and programs are designed for them

For Infants and Toddlers during Sunday 10:15 am worship: We have a comfortable nursery staffed by responsible teenagers from our congregation where you may leave your child for some or all of the service.

Church School: Children from Pre-School through Grade 6 are encouraged to enroll in our Church School program, which meets at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings.  Our curricula of Christian Formation focus on the sacramental and liturgical traditions of our denomination and the stories from Scripture.

Confirmation Class: Youth in high school, along with adults, who wish to be confirmed in the Episcopal Church enroll in a Confirmation Class.  At St. Mark's, this class provides not only education and Christian formation for our young people, but opportunities for fellowship, outreach and service as well.  Confirmation occurs at St. Mark's every other year, in conjunction with the Bishop's visitation. Contact the Rector to enroll in the Confirmation Class.

AcolytesChildren and youth from Grade 4 and up may choose to be trained to serve as acolytes, participating and assisting in worship services on a scheduled, rotating basis.

Youth Activities: The youth at St. Mark's participate in the Deanery Youth Group. This group provides activities that support fellowship, worship and outreach. We also have lots of fun. The youth group meets once a month at rotating locations.

Attention Adults: We are always looking for adults who want to get involved with the young people of our parish and act as supervisors . Please consider getting involved in this important mission.
