Recently, St. Mark's took the step of renovating a long neglected room in our bell tower and converting it into a memorial chapel with a columbarium. The columbarium makes it possible to place the ashes of a departed member of the family within the church - much like entombement was done in earlier times. The chapel provides a quiet, contemplative and comfortable place for family and friends to come and pray.
There are currently a total of 28 niches, with a planned future expansion to a total of 60 niches. Each niche is designed to hold the cremated remains of one individual. However several niches have been set aside to hold the cremated remains of a couple.
The columbarium is for the use of the members of St. Mark's church and their immediate families. Those desiring to purchase a nich can do so by contacting the church's office and securing an application form.
