Christian Education at St. Mark's

DO YOU THINK THAT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION AND SUNDAY SCHOOL IS IMPORTANT TO THE FUTURE OF ST. MARK’S?

As a family made up of Christians of all ages our answer should be a resounding…YES! We have spent a lot of time on the future financial stability of St. Mark’s, but we must not forget the future spiritual stability of parish family as well. That stability is based on the Christian Education experience that is available to our entire parish family, from pre-school to adult.

Several members of Vestry have committed to participate in this fall’s Sunday School and Adult Education Program. This commitment should not be a just a Vestry Commitment, but a parish family commitment as well. To make our commitment to Christian Education work, the Vestry needs your help.

The goal is to have Christian Education and Sunday School available for all, and not have the burden of preparing and teaching fall on two or three people as it has in the past. The plan is to work together in teams to support one another in creating a Christian Education and Sunday School Program that will answer the above question with that resounding…YES!

We hope that enough people will step forward that each team will only have to participate for a portion of the church year, allowing you to worship as you normally do. The only qualification for the job is to answer “Yes” to the above question, no other experience is necessary.

A sign-up sheet will be placed on the bulletin board. Questions may be answered by any Warden, Vestry Member or Colleen.  An informational and organizational meeting will be held in early September.

Please sign-up on the sheet posted on the Bulletin Board ifyou are committed to Christian Education at St. Mark's and are willing to help make it happen.

The future of Christian Education and Sunday School, as well as the future spiritual stability of St. Mark’s is every member’s responsibility. Please consider making a commitment of a portion of your Sunday worship time to the future of Christian Education and Sunday School at St. Mark’s. On behalf of the Vestry, thanks from Jim Isaac

Summer Lunch Program:

St. Mark's will again be SummerFood.jpgparticipating in a Summer Food Program. This year, though, it will be a park program and lunches will be served. The Village Recreation Department will be feeding the children, so all we need to do is to pick up the coolers from the YWCA each day and return them the following day when we make the pick-up. The program will runfor 5-6 Weeks, beginning this week and the ideal situation will be to have one person in charge of each day of the week. . If you are interested, please contact Leslie DeLooze at 768-6919 or e-mail her at leslie@delooze.com.
